Error when inserting an image (Codes: 1000, 5007)

Issue

Some versions of Word and PowerPoint 2016 raise error codes 1000 and 5007 when users click an emoji while an image option selected (XS – XXL). This leads to error messages with titles Unexpected Error and/or Please Update in the add-in.

Solution

Please follow this official guide to update your program to the latest version: Install Office updates

You should be able to insert emoji images as soon as the update is complete.
